You have just received a letter from your supplementary pension fund requesting a certificate or proof. The classic reflex would be to photocopy the document, look for an envelope, and stick on a stamp. The Agirc-Arrco personal space allows you to bypass all that by uploading your documents directly from your computer or phone. However, you need to be aware of the technical constraints of the upload form, which are not always clearly indicated.
Accepted file formats by the Agirc-Arrco space
This is the point that traps the most users. The upload form of the Agirc-Arrco personal space only accepts PDF and JPEG formats. If you try to send a PNG, TIFF, BMP, or HEIC file (a common format on recent iPhones), the upload will be rejected.
The problem is that this rejection does not always generate an explicit error message. You might click “Send,” see the page reload, and think everything worked when in fact the file was never transmitted.
Before scanning or photographing a document, check the output format of your application. On a smartphone, the camera often produces HEIC by default. Change this setting in the device’s settings, or convert the file to JPEG before uploading it.
If you start with a file that is too large, it will also be rejected without explanation. Most guides recommend sending a document to Agirc-Arrco by email after first checking the format and size of the file.
Logging in and navigating to the document upload on Agirc-Arrco
Do you already have an account on the agirc-arrco.fr site? The document upload section is not on the homepage of your personal space. It is located in the section related to your current file (retirement application, survivor’s pension, situation update).
Accessing the correct form
Once logged in, look for the mention “Documents to provide” or “Supporting documents” in the tracking of your file. This is where the upload button appears. The upload is available 24 hours a day, including weekends, unlike the telephone service.
If you do not see any upload form, it is probably because no request for a document is active on your file. In this case, the only way to send a document spontaneously remains by postal mail. Agirc-Arrco does not provide an email address to receive attachments. The online form and postal mail are the only two channels.
Creating your personal space
If you do not yet have an account, creating one is done through the agirc-arrco.fr site. You will need your social security number and a valid email address. Validation is almost immediate, and you will access your personal space as soon as you receive email confirmation.
Most requested documents for a supplementary pension file
Depending on the type of file (retirement liquidation, survivor’s pension application, change of family situation), the requested documents vary. Here are the documents that are most commonly requested:
- Valid identification (national identity card or passport), scanned front and back as a single PDF file preferably
- Recent bank identity statement, in the name of the applicant, for the payment of the supplementary pension
- Certificate from the Carsat or career statement, which allows verifying the consistency between the basic and supplementary schemes
- Family record book or birth certificate, especially for survivor’s pension applications or updates to family situation
Pay slips are not always required. Agirc-Arrco already has the social declarations submitted by employers. They are only requested if a discrepancy is detected over a specific period of your career.
Check that your documents have been received by Agirc-Arrco
Uploading a file does not guarantee that it has been accepted and integrated into your file. The tracking of the processing is done in the same section as the upload, in your personal space.
Status to monitor
After the upload, your document may display several statuses:
- “In processing” means that the file has been received but not yet verified by an advisor
- “Validated” confirms that the document is compliant and integrated into the file
- “Rejected” indicates a problem with readability, format, or content (expired document, incorrect document)
If the status remains stuck on “In progress” for more than a few weeks, contact your supplementary pension fund by phone to check that the file has not been lost in the system. Specialized forums regularly report this type of blockage.
Keep a record of each submission
Take a screenshot of the confirmation page after each upload. Note the date and the name of the file sent. In case of a dispute or a blocked file, this proof simplifies exchanges with your advisor.
Postal mail or Agirc-Arrco online space: which channel to choose
The online space is faster and available at all times. Postal mail remains useful in two specific situations: when no document request is active in your space (no upload form available), or when the digital file is repeatedly rejected despite being in the correct format.
Registered mail with acknowledgment of receipt remains the only traceable offline option. Simple mail does not generate any proof of receipt on Agirc-Arrco’s side. For a sensitive document (identity document, death certificate in the context of a survivor’s pension), registered mail is preferable.
The postal address depends on your affiliated fund (AG2R La Mondiale, Malakoff Humanis, Alliance Professionnelle Retraite, etc.). It is listed on the letters you receive or in the “Contact” section of your personal space.
The online upload has an often underestimated advantage: it automatically timestamps your submission, which can matter if your supplementary pension file is subject to a deadline. The postmark is proof for postal mail, while the digital timestamp is proof for the personal space.
